BURGAS, Aug 26 (SW) - Lokomotiv Plovdiv president Georgi Iliev was shot dead only forty minutes after seeing his club qualifying for the UEFA Cup tournament.

Iliev was on the phone in one of his own bars, when what is believed to be a sniper, fatally hit the 39-year-old president.

The chairman was no stranger to local authorities, according to minister Boiko Borisov. Iliev is said to have been involved in the drugs business, just like his brother, who was murdered in 1995.
