PALERMO/BRØNDBY, Nov 3 (SW) - Palermo went to the top of UEFA Cup Group B on Thursday with a draw at home against Lokomotiv Moscow while Brøndby opened their campaign with a win over Maccabi Petah-Tikva.

Palermo - Lokomotiv Moscow 0-0

Luigi Del Neri's men were coming off a win on Matchday 1 over Maccabi Petah-Tikva but were unable to break the deadlock against a valiant Lokomotiv side.

The Russians were beaten in their opening match at home by Espanyol two weeks ago.

Brøndby - Maccabi Petah-Tikva 2-0

Michael Laudrup's Danish side took a 67th-minute lead when Marcus Lantz hit a shot after a brilliant cross from Thomas Rasmussen for a 1-0 lead.

Seven minutes from the end, Johan Absalonsen took a ball from Johan Elmander and fired in from about 20 yards out to put the game out of reach for the Israeli visitors and give the home side a fine start to their group stage.
