TOULOUSE, Feb 6 (SW) – French outfit Toulouse FC have been hit by the news goalkeeper Christophe Revault was all set to face up to two months on the sidelines, after damaging a muscle.
The influential 33-year-old was stretchered off the pitch in the 42nd minute of his side’s 1-0 win over Nantes at the weekend, and although further medical examination revealed no serious knee injury, Revault is likely to miss up to two months of action.
“One muscle above his knee is indeed torn. But it’s not as serious as we initially thought it would be. There is no issue with his ligaments, or his knee itself, it’s only a muscular problem. He will need from 6 to 8 weeks to recover though,” said TFC’s medical staff on the club’s official website.
25-year-old Nicolas Douchez, who replaced Revault to make his first Ligue 1 appearance on Saturday, is likely to remain between the sticks during the number-one goalie’s absence.
