HUELVA, Sep 4 (SW) – Former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle is settling into life at his new club Recreativo de Huelvaon after joining on a season long loan.

Pongolle joined the Spanish side before the recent transfer window closed, after the 21 year old was unable to gain a first team place at Liverpool.

The striker joined the Premier league club in 2002 but has spent time out on loan at Blackburn and Le Havre. His record at Liverpool includes the 9 goals he scored since moving to England.

The young Frenchman faced tough competition for his place from summer signings, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt, as well as the clubs other established strikers.

Recreativo issued a statement saying, "Pongolle is a very important signing for us."
