Four out of five Dutch teams advance

AMSTERDAM, Sep 28 (SW) - Ajax, SC Heerenveen, AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord are all through to the second round in the UEFA Cup, while a missed penalty cost FC Groningen dearly against Partizan Belgrade.

Ajax - Start 4-0
Ajax win 9-2 on aggregate
Ajax were never troubled by the Norwegians of Start at the Amsterdam Arena. Marcus Rosenberg scored in the 6th and 25th minutes, Zdenek Grygera added another in the in the 41st and Ryan Babel struck from outside the penalty area in the 68th.

SC Heerenveen - Vitoria Setubal 0-0
SC Heerenveen win 3-0 on aggregate
The Dutch hosts had already won the first leg 3-0 and the two sides had little to play for in the return leg. This showed, as no goals were scored at the Abe Lenstra stadium.

Kayserispor - AZ Alkmaar 1-1
AZ Alkmaar win 4-3 on aggregate
Gohkan Unal put Kayserispor ahead in the tenth minute and levelled the aggregate score, but an own goal from Tayfun Cora in the 54th minute was enough for AZ Alkmaar to reach the group phase.

Feyenoord - Lokomotiv Sofia 0-0
Feyenoord win on away goals, 2-2 on aggregate
Feyenoord only just managed to secure their spot in the group phase, holding Lokomotiv Sofia to a scoreless draw at the Kuip stadium in Rotterdam.

The first leg ended 2-2 and those two away goals are enough for the Dutch to advance.

FC Groningen - Partizan Belgrade 1-0
Partizan Belgrade win 4-3 on aggregate
FC Groningen came close to overcoming the 4-2 defeat in the first leg, but lacked one goal in the end. Koen van de Laak scored from the penalty spot on the hour mark to gave the home side new hope.

Groningen got another penalty in the 80th minute, but this time it was Van de Laak's substitute Yuri Cornelisse to try. However, the ball went wide and Partizan advance.
