ROME (AFP) - Roma will be without their emblematic captain Francesco Totti for the Champions League group F encounter with Sporting in Lisbon on Wednesday, the Italian side have confirmed Monday.

The Italian striker is still nursing a right foot injury he picked up two weeks ago while playing in the sides' first group encounter in Rome.

Roma manager Luciano Spalletti has also been forced to erase the names of defender Christian Panucci, and midfielders Alberto Aquilani and Taddei from his squad list.

Totti is set to be replaced by Montenegran Mirko Vucinic, who scored the winning goal in Roma's 2-1 win over Sporting two weeks ago.
