MADRID (AFP) - Spain must do without key striker David Villa for next Saturday's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark after the Valencia striker sustained an ankle injury that will sideline him for up to three weeks.
Villa hobbled out of Valencia's 2-1 defeat to Espanyol on Saturday after a knock to his left ankle and the club confirmed the extent of the injury on Sunday.
With Villa now out, Spain national coach Luis Aragones could recall Real Madrid striker Raul, who has been left out of the national team for over a year.
Spain are level on points with Sweden at the top of Euro 2008 qualifying Group F but have played one game more.
