ROME (AFP) - AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted Friday he would like to bring both Ronaldinho and Andrey Shevchenko to the San Siro next season.

Milan are struggling this season, eliminated from the Champions League at the first knock-out stage and languishing down in fifth place in Serie A.

Many commentators have been calling for an overhaul of the rossoneri's aging squad with Ronaldinho and Shevchenko consistently touted as possible transfer targets.

And Ancelotti was doing nothing to dispel those rumours, even claiming that he would not expect Ronaldinho's notorious extra-curricular activities to be a factor if he came to Milan.

"I've never had any direct knowledge on those things, so I can't comment," said the former Milan and AS Roma midfielder.

"It was the same with Ronaldo, who people said wasn't always present but in actual fact he is a great professional with whom I've never had any problems.

"I've never had this type of problem with anyone."

Ancelotti also denied he was against a move for Chelsea's Shevchenko. Milan president Silvio Berlusconi seems desperate to bring the Ukrainian back to Milan, whom he left to join Chelsea for 30 million pounds two years ago.

There had been rumours that Ancelotti doesn't actually want Sheva back, but the coach brushed those aside.

"I've spoken to Shevchenko and he told me he wants to return to Milan," added Ancelotti.

"Probably his son has forgotten Italian and wants to come back. It's wrong to say that I don't want Shevchenko, I only said that he has similar attributes to Pato but they could easily play together."

Milan travel to Juventus on Saturday night in a vital match they must win to keep their hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League alive.

The reigning European champions are in a battle with Fiorentina, Udinese and Sampdoria for the one remaining qualification spot.

Ancelotti has not given up hope of making it, despite a tough run-in which sees them also play Inter Milan.

"It's a race that will go right down to the wire," he said. "We need to gather points and close the gap to Fiorentina.

"(Juve) are an aggressive team, but they're also organised and compact.

"I'm sure (Saturday) night will be a great and spectacular match. We're growing and we're sure that the team is back on track.

"What counts now is finishing fourth and getting back in the Champions League."
