ST PETERSBURG, Apr 13 (SW) - Zenit St Petersburg may be through to the semi finals of the UEFA Cup, nothing goes as planned in the Russian domest league.

Before today, Dick Advocaat's men had only earned six points from four matches. Sunday's match didn't change much as the reigning champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Krylya Sovetov.

Anyukov put Zenit ahead after sixteen minutes but Taranov equalized for the visitors on the half hour mark.

Zenit occupy the ninth spot at nine points from current leaders Rubin Kazan, the only team to have won all of their five matches so far.

Today, Rubin beat FK Khimki 0-4 with two goals from Karadeniz, and one each from Kobenko and Noboa.

It's a big contrast with last season, when Rubin finished in tenth place at 36 points from winners Zenit.
