LIVERPOOL/LONDON, Apr 8 (SW) - Liverpool and Chelsea are through to the semi finals of the Champions League, while Arsenal and Fenerbahçe will have to focus on their domestic competitions from here on.

Arsenal had a good start at Anfield Road, with Diaby opening the score for the Gunners after just 13 minutes.

But Hyypiä levelled on the half-hour mark, for Fernando Torres to put the home side ahead in the 69th minute.

When Emanuel Adebayor equalized in the 84th minute, Arsenal fans began to prepare for victory but only a minute later, Liverpool were handed a penalty. Steven Gerrard took the responsibility and converted for 3-2.

Ryan Babel added a fourth goal for Liverpool in extra time.

After last week's defeat in Istanbul, Chelsea had to give it their all to get past their Turkish visitors at Stamford Bridge.

German midfielder Michael Ballack needed only four minutes to put Chelsea in the lead, and Fenerbahçe never managed to level the score.

At three minutes from the end, Frank Lampard secured the victory from short range.

For the semi finals, Liverpool and Chelsea face off in a replay of the 2005 semi's. Then, it was Liverpool to advance and eventually win the tournament.
