The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided to lift the suspension that the FIFA Executive Committee imposed on The Football Association of Albania (FSHF) on 14 March 2008 following government interference in the internal affairs of the FSHF and in Albanian football.
Following discussions involving FIFA, UEFA, the FSHF and the Albanian authorities, the FSHF’s new statutes were finally signed by the Albanian Sports Minister, Ylli Pango, and registered with the appropriate Albanian court after he had stopped the legal proceedings he had instituted.
Furthermore, a four-party working group comprising FIFA, UEFA, the FSHF and the Ministry of Sports was then set up.
In the light of these facts and after consulting UEFA, FIFA has decided to lift the suspension on The Football Association of Albania today, Tuesday, 29 April 2008.
