Paris Saint-Germain reached the French League Cup final at the expense of AJ Auxerre following a 3-2 win at the Parc des Princes.
PSG now have the chance to gain some silverware after enduring a disappointing season in which they lie 16th in Ligue 1, just three points clear of the relegation zone. A superb first-half display from Paul Le Guen's men was the key to victory. Mario Yepes opened the scoring with a header after 31 minutes and Pauleta scored with a similar effort twelve minutes later.
Auxerre pulled one back with 16 minutes remaining as France goalkeeper Mickaël Landreau fumbled into his own net to concede an own goal. However, Bernard Mendy restored the two-goal lead five minutes later and a spectacular last minute bicycle-kick from Julien Quercia was nothing more than a consolation for Jean Fernandez's team.
