LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) - Liverpool signed highly-rated French striker David Ngog from Paris St Germain for an undisclosed fee on Thursday.

Ngog, 19, agreed a four-year contract with the Premier League club and becomes Rafa Benitez's fourth close-season buy after Andrea Dossena, Diego Cavalieri and Philipp Degen.

Although he only netted once in 18 appearances for PSG last season, Ngog, the cousin of former Newcastle defender Jean-Alain Boumsong, is regarded as one of his country's brightest young talents after scoring at every youth level for France.

Let us all hope he is useful, because Liverpool are going to need every bit of skill they can get to come anywhere near to Manchester United next season.

Liverpool'll struggle qualifying for UEFA. The so called "Big Four" is an illusion, it's actually 2 1/2 - MU, Chelsea and Ars representing the half. The rest is media hype in which, unlike football, the english are undisputed world champions.
