The Football Association have rejected FIFA´s call to impose a longer ban on Martin Taylor for the foul that broke Eduardo´s leg.
The world governing body had asked the FA to increase the Birmingham defender´s punishment after he was suspended for three matches after being sent off for serious foul play.
But the FA have stuck to their guns and say the ban will not be changed because there was no clear case of intent on Taylor´s part when he went in to tackle Arsenal´s Croatian striker. They also insist disciplinary procedures should not be changed mid-way through a season.
