UEFA Cup finalists Rangers FC have confirmed that goalkeeper Allan McGregor will miss the match against FC Zenit St. Petersburg as well as the remainder of the Scottish season.
McGregor appeared to have an outside chance of being fit for next Wednesday's final in Manchester but the Rangers No1 has now conceded defeat in his struggle to recover from an ankle injury. The Scottish international was injured playing against Celtic FC on 16 April and had to sit out the UEFA Cup semi-final victory over ACF Fiorentina, with Neil Alexander, a mid-season signing from Ipswich Town FC, deputising to great effect.
